Mission San Jose grounds include a Historic Cemetery and a Patio Garden. The Cemetery holds the unmarked graves of many native Americans and pioneers. The Patio Garden has roses, vines, and shrubs representing those that were introduced to mission courtyards only near the end of the Spanish mission period.
